At Cruise Cush, our mission is to make pediatric transport environments more child centered. Cruise Cush brings themed imagery directly to the gurney environment while preserving the hospital's existing transport workflow. Inspired by our frontline healthcare experience, we are committed to creating more thoughtful transport experiences for children & families.
Cruise Cush was created by a pediatric nurse Misty Deneen and a certified child life specialist Lisa Beltran after years of witnessing how stressful hospital transport can be for children. We created a removable, themed rail cover that brings familiar colors and child-friendly imagery into the transport environment.
Hospitals work hard to create welcoming spaces for children, but the transport equipment used between those spaces often remains plain and unfamiliar. As a pediatric nurse and child life specialist we saw an opportunity to bring child-friendly themes directly into the transport environment. That inspired Cruise Cush, a removable themed gurney rail cover designed to complement existing pediatric workflows.
As a Child Life Specialist, I instantly saw the value in what Cruise Cush is creating. Themed bumpers like these would completely change the tone of the gurney. It's such a thoughtful, child centered design.
